Indirect Procurement Specialist
Description
The Procurement Specialist will support the Indirect Sourcing Manager in managing procurement activities for indirect goods and services. This role is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and managing supplier relationships, as well as resolving invoicing issues and performing data analysis to support procurement decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Help the Sourcing team in executing strategies for indirect categories (e.g., MRO, IT, purchased services, facilities, travel, etc.)
- Conduct supplier selection, negotiation, and contract management
- Lead end-to-end procurement projects, including planning, developing, issuing, and managing RFPs, RFQs, and contracts.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure compliance
- Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues as needed
- Process requisitions and update management on status of orders.
- Work closely with the Accounts Payable (AP) team and sourcing operations to investigate and resolve supplier invoicing/payment issues, coordinating with suppliers to ensure timely resolution
- Gather, analyze, and interpret procurement data to support decision-making and process improvements
- Support cost reduction initiatives and process improvements
- Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation
- Assist in the development and implementation of procurement policies and procedures
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Business, Supply Chain, or related field or college Diploma with supply chain focus or related field
- 3+ years’ relevant procurement/sourcing experience in a project based or manufacturing environment
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills
- Demonstrated experience managing RFPs and other competitive sourcing processes from start to finish.
- Experience resolving invoicing or payment issues with suppliers
- Proficiency in procurement and ERP systems as well as MS Office Suite including advanced Excel skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines while maintaining compliance.
- Demonstrated ability to organize, assess, prioritize tasks, risks, resources, milestones, and deliverables with frequently changing priorities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to analyze problems, identify root causes and provide efficient solutions
- Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is a plus
